Welcome to the New Orleans Ferry Website!
In operation since 1827 and 1970 respectively, the Algiers Point/Canal Street and Lower Algiers/Chalmette ferries traverse the Mississippi, connecting prominent destinations on both banks of the river.
Veolia Transportation became the operator of the Canal St. and Chalmette Ferries in late February of 2014. Veolia is a leader in public transit and is delighted to have helped save these landmark ferry lines in our beloved city.
Whether you’re commuting or just visiting, we invite you to check schedules/fares and learn more about this historic ferry service on this site. We appreciate your business!
